Is Theo destined to fall?

Kép
Rings of Power character, Theo, has a theory surrounding him; that he will become evil. More specifically, the Witch-King of Angmar. A few theories exist where he is part of the lineage of the stewards of Gondor, but the majority of people have their chips on some form of villainy under Sauron. I can see why people would say this and wanted to address what I saw in his story so far and where he could go in later seasons. Theo slots into a fairly common fallen hero storyline, where a powerless character is seduced by evil in their pursuit of power. In this storyline, a character is introduced who is powerless in some way. They’re usually physically powerless or without abilities in a world of abilities, but being figuratively powerless isn’t unknown either, like being repressed by their society in some way. This character then comes across something that can give them power. A weapon, a magic powerup, a special training technique. This power also comes with a mentor attached. This mento...

The meaning behind "Miss Martian"

A rather underrated DC character is M’gann M’orzz, aka, Miss Martian. Her most well-known version appears on Young Justice, but my personal favorite and the one I want to talk about in this article, is the version depicted by Sharon Leal on CW’s Supergirl. M’gann appears on the show in seasons 2 and 6 as a recurring role and in seasons 3 and 5 as a guest role. She never really becomes a superhero in the sense everyone else on the show and she never hides her identity so her code-name, Miss Martian, was worked into the story differently. The two episodes where the name, Miss Martian, is used are both in season 2. In the episode “Survivors”, one of M’gann’s very first episodes, and “The Martian Chronicles”, her last episode of the season. The context of how this name is used hides a rather clever and unspoken meaning. In the episode “Survivors”, we don’t yet know M’gann, who she is or what her story is. However, fairly early on in the episode, protagonist Alex Danvers discovers that M’ga...

In your eyes, there is My reflection

Heather, Melinda May, M’gann M’orzz. These are only a few of the characters I relate to most in the world for rather dark and depressing reasons. On top of this list is none other than Galadriel from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. While a lot of people argue that she is poorly written, one-dimensional, or even a Mary Sue, she is a real person and a well-written one at that. She is a real person that I, and others, can relate to. My relation to Galadriel goes deep. Without getting into specifics, I have lost people, I have gone through phases of my life I could easily describe as “Hell”, I have been depressed, I have lived with such pains for so long that the extent it reached scared even me. The version of Galadriel most people are familiar with is from the third age. From just the Lord of the Rings, we don’t know much of her past. But from the books, we can learn that early in her life, in the space of but a few centuries, Galadriel has lived through a lot of insane horror...

Lady Bridgerton loves her daugther

I have seen a lot of people say that Violet doesn’t love Eloise as much as her other children and I wanted to address this because it is simply not true. This, I believe suffers from the same thing many unsaid emotional things in media do: surface viewing. Especially with season 3, I can see why people would say that Violet doesn’t love Eloise, or not as much as the others, but the truth is that I have to set aside every single below-the-surface emotional moment to understand it. Violet keeps pushing Eloise to find love, interact with other young ladies, find more lady-like pursuits, and in season 3 it’s almost as if she’s forgotten Eloise exists. But there is more to this. Kind of working backward here, but season 3 is easier to explain. Violet has not forgotten about Eloise it is simply that she wishes to give her her space. Which she stated on the show when talking to Kate. In season 2 she spent all her time focusing on Eloise and finding her a husband. This insistence is what Viole...
